went to Gandhi last night. I like the butter chicken and huge portions but its pricey, $12 for roti, $13 for rice. Any other dish ie chicken or potato or cauliflower is cheaper for $7/8. Same huge portion for all dishes. The butter chicken I had could last two meals but i'm too greedy and eat everything at once. Next time think i'll skip the butter chicken and get a $7-8 roti, you get the same portion and its easier on the wallet, i can get my butter chicken fix elsewhere.

I went to Gandhi for the first time this weekend and had the chicken jalfrezi roti ($10). The sticker shock caught me off guard (especially for the dishes previously mentioned), but I figured why not?

I was surprised at how the spicy "medium" was, in the "heat overpowers everything" sense. Also surprised that it contained a hefty amount of green peas (as "jalfrezi", I was expecting peppers and tomatoes). Still, it was very tasty and filling. The packaging (a tin foil container) makes it ideal to take home and freeze.

it is really great. I have indian friends who go there about 3 times a week. It isnt traditional, its pretty much all take out, but they make dishes wrapped in roti, west indian style that are to die for. Their saag panner, and channa roti are out of this world. They also have a sister store at Queen and Lansdowne called Mother India which I imagine is just as good.

I live no where near it now, but I still make the long drive every 2 weeks to get my fix!

It's really grungy inside, and service is not always with a smile, but WHO CARES?! It's all about the food!

This place is tiny, so don't expect to sit down with the family. What it lacks in size it makes up in taste. The roti here is the amazing and the optional pickled garlic is a must try. Don't forget to ask for Tamarin sauce and watch out for that spice!

I went to Gandhi recently to see what all the hype was about. I got the chicken roti, my SO got the lamb roti and we thought it was delicious. I have never tried Indian style rotis before, as oppose to the Caribbean style, but I liked how saucy it was when you cut into it. I found it spicy even at medium. I will go back to try different rotis.
