Found this place to be below average. Maybe it was the less than average sauce that could be beat by any of your garden variety grocery store jars. This stuff at Mama Martino's seem to come out of a can.

Service was not that great either. Overall 2 thumbs down.

Very disappointing, will not make another visit there.

I have been a loyal Mama's patron for years and love the food - Chicken Parm, sandwiches and the al-bruno sauce (rose) are favorites. The wait is always worth it, however, services is sometimes lacking. Business is one thing, but there are a few members of the wait staff that need to go - miserable and dishonest. Overall a great family restaurant. Authentic, home-made Italian - fresh pasta and sauces at a price that has no competition.

I've been to the other Italian restaurants in the area. My guess is
the related reviews of Mama Martino's were written by the owners
of these restaurants. I found the food excellent for the price only
to be outdone by the service. In order to appreciate Mama's you
have to go there and experience it for yourself.

This restaurant is very affortable but the other story is the food. Somedays food is better then others but the quality doesnt compare to some other restaurants. My family and I went last night and the food was crap. and the waiter charged us $100 more then we where supposed to pay.The salad was not fresh and coming from a far distance away i except satisfaction. as well we had to wait in the line for years and the restaurant was loud. i woudnt recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I have been a loyal customer of Mama Martino's for years. If you want simple home cooked Italian food with no frills, this is the place. I do suggest the chef salad for starters as the homemade dressing is really nice. Also if you a ordering the chicken or veal parm upgrade your pasta to the penne al-bruno. Experience it for yourself but remember Mama Martino's is very casual dining.

Very marginal italian fare that tastes like out of a can and very bland sauce.

I had the chicken parmigiana and it was horrible.
After an hour of eating it I was running for the washroom.

I have been there for the 5th and last time. I have found the food there inconsistent each time. I ordered chicken parm the first time and it was as flat as a pancake with no taste. I didnt really want to go back there but my wife and her sister kept persuading me to give it another chance because as they keep saying how cheap the price is. But I'm sorry after going there 4 more times it still the same bland and tasteless sauce and sub par italian fair.

Very dissapointing especially when I ordered yesterday the veal marsala. The sauce taste very sour and had too much alcohol in it. If they messed up on the sauce why don't they do what other restaurants do and throe it out instead of serving that kind of heinous vile to their customers. Total crap to go with their equally deserving poor service.

I have been going to this restaurant since I was a little girl. The food absolutely cannot be topped. Parking can be a little difficult, but if you've got the time to wait in the inevitable line-up you will not be dissappointed. The special always delivers and the pasta is homemade and beyond compare.
If you have occasion to eat here, you will not be disappointed by the close, casual atmosphere, friendly service and great food at fantastic prices.

I think it's a matter of expectations for sure. For our family, with 3 young kids, this cheap and cheerful restaurant fits the bill, although the wait on a saturday night was over an hour.... My husband goes frequently for lunch, and recommends the minestrone soup... we enjoyed the pasta carbonara, the lingquine with clams was a little bland, and my husbands tortellini was "not up to standard"... the kids enjoyed a cheese and ham pizza....
Service ranges from fabulous to fine... like most places it depends on the expectation.
For us, the food is acceptable, the price is good and they are definitely family friendly.
